NEW COLLECTIVE ARTISTS DIVISION

You may have missed it but we have added a collective artists division.  In this division you can work on a piece with another member and enter it as a team.  It could be 2 friends, parent and child or even 5 guys.  The rules are as follows:

2 or More can work on the piece.  $30 entry fee per piece

The winners will be chosen by the judges as a group

There will only be ONE 1st, 2nd and 3rd place award given

Artist(s) will receive ribbons.
A plaque engraved with each years winners will be permanently displayed by the OTA

NEW FOR 2010 FELLOWSHIP BANQUET

 

This year the OTA is having a banquet to coincide with the Awards Ceremony.  It will take place Saturday evening at 6pm at the Conference Center.   Tickets will be PRE SALE ONLY no tickets will be available at the show…and they are very limited.  They will be sold on a first come basis.   Menu is as follows:

 

¼ Chicken

¾ pound ribs

Green beans

Scalloped potatoes

Coleslaw

Coffee, lemonade, and iced tea

Cost is $20 per person OR $35 a couple.  We have been working hard to make this happen for our show so be sure and support it.  During the banquet there will be a pizza party and movies for the kids so no excuses for not attending.

There will be drawings for dinner participants only.  Non participating members will be able to attend the awards ceremony and auction following the banquet.

SPEED DEER CONTEST at THE 2010 SHOW

Can you mount the elusive 2 hour deer.  A brand new event for 2010.  Open to 10 taxidermists.  You will have 2 hours to complete a WT deer shoulder mount.  The contest will be open to only 10 taxidermists.  $200 shopping spree prize!    HERE

 

PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE 2010

The President’s Challenge for 2010 is for the best mount portraying the Predator/Prey relationship.  This award is to be chosen by the sitting OTA President.

OHIO TAXIDERMY CHAMPIONSHIPS MOVES TO MID OHIO CONFERENCE CENTER IN MANSFIELD OHIO

Yes the rumors are true.  The Holmes County Expo center closed its doors.  That meant that the 2010 Ohio Taxidermy Championships was without a venue.  HOWEVER we found a great venue in Mansfield Ohio.  The Mid Ohio Conference Center.  This is a NICE place.  Modern, carpeted, all the amenities...PLUS only a MILE from the host hotel who gave us a GREAT group rate.  It is also MUCH easier to get to from everywhere in Ohio.  The venue  is BIG and will be able to handle the size of show we grew into last year.  You can see info on the venue HERE.  You can get info on the hotel HERE .  More info coming soon.

OHIO’S OWN ED PIASKOWSKI WINS AT THE WORLD TAXIDERMY CHAMPIONSHIPS!

In case you wondered if State Champion Ed Piaskowski was that good….He just won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in the Whitetail Category.  Well deserved Ed.  Go to the forum and congratulate him.

 

2009 Ohio Taxidermy Championships

The 2009 Ohio Taxidermy Championships was a HUGE success!  232 entries,  33 Vendor’s, 197 MEMBERS!  Be sure and check out the  STATE CHAMPIONS  page.  Also be sure and check back often for more new info.
